How to configure Perno Check?

A quick guide to configurating Perno Check context

Before Perno Check can alert you to downtime, a few settings need to be configured - who gets notified, how often, and whether alerts are sent at all. This article walks through setting that up.

What can you configure in Perno Check settings?

Perno Check settings control outage notifications for every site monitored under the Perno Check context. From here you can set:

  • Notification email - the email address that receives outage alerts.
  • Alert cooldown minutes - the minimum time between outage emails for the same site. For example, a value of 60 sends at most one alert per site per hour while it remains down.
  • Send outage alerts - a checkbox that turns outage emails on or off. When disabled, checks are still recorded, but no outage emails are sent.

Switching to the Perno Check context

Settings are managed from the Perno Check context. If a different context is currently active, switch to Perno Check first:
  • Click the Context switcher in the top navigation bar.

  • Select Check from the list.

  • Click Settings in the left sidebar.

Configuring outage notifications

On the Settings page:
  • Enter the address that should receive outage alerts in Notification email.
  • Set Alert cooldown minutes to control how often an alert can repeat for the same site while it stays down.
  • Leave Send outage alerts checked to receive emails when a monitored site goes down, or uncheck it to keep recording checks silently, without notifications.

Click Save settings to apply the changes, or Cancel to discard them.
