Need to collect a one-off payment outside your usual checkout? Payment links let you do that from Perno Orchestration. This article explains what they are and how to create, share, and delete them.
What is a payment link?
A payment link is a hosted payment page created from your Perno Orchestration context. Each payment link is tied to one of your merchant accounts and can be shared with a customer to collect a specific payment, with an optional one-time-use restriction.
Switching to the Perno Orchestration context
Payment links are managed from the Perno Orchestration context. If a different context is currently active, switch to Perno Orchestration first:
- Click the Context switcher in the top navigation bar.

- Select Perno Orchestration from the list.

Reviewing your orchestration settings
Before creating payment links, it's worth confirming the orchestration settings are configured correctly. Open Perno Orchestration from the left sidebar to review:
- Default payment gateway - the provider used when a payment link doesn't specify one.
- Default, success, and cancel return URLs - the pages customers are redirected to after a payment attempt.
- Transaction and payment link notification URLs - the endpoints notified of transaction and payment link events.
- API key - authenticates requests to the orchestration API. Keep this value private.
Creating a new payment link
- Click Payment links in the left sidebar.

- Click + New Payment Link.

- Fill in the payment link details:

- Merchant account - the account the payment will be processed through.
- Currency - the currency for the payment.
- Amount - the amount to be charged.
- Transaction ID - your external transaction or order identifier.
- Customer email (optional).
- One-time link checkbox - restricts the link to a single use.
Deleting a payment link
- Click the delete (trash) icon next to the payment link.

- Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete Payment Link in the dialog.
