How to add a meta tag?

A step-by-step guide to adding a meta tag to your store

Store meta tags let you configure SEO and storefront text - page titles, descriptions, and keywords - for a store, per language. This guide covers adding a meta tags entry, and managing or deleting an existing one.

What is Store meta tags for?

Store meta tags let you configure localized SEO and storefront text - page titles, descriptions, section labels, and keywords - for the currently selected store, on a per-language basis.

Before you start: a meta tags entry can't be created until your store has at least one language configured, since the Language field on the Add store meta tags form requires an existing store language. Add a language first if you haven't already:

Switching to your store context

Store meta tags are managed from the Store context. If a different context is currently active, switch to your store first:
  • Click the Context switcher in the top navigation bar.

  • Select Store from the list.

The dashboard now shows live data for the selected store:

Opening Store meta tags

  • Click Your store in the left sidebar to expand it, then click Meta tags.

The Store meta tags page shows the store you're currently managing and how many configuration entries already exist.

Adding store meta tags

  • Click + Add meta tags.

  • Fill in the configuration form:
