How to add a product category translation?

A step-by-step guide to adding a product category translation.

Category Translations control how a category appears to customers browsing in a different language. This article covers creating a translation, and editing or deleting one.

What is Category Translations for?

Category Translations let you create localized variants of a category's storefront content for a specific language. Each translation carries its own name, slug, and content blocks, so customers browsing in a different language see fully localized category pages.

Switching to your store context

Categories are managed from the Store context. If a different context is currently active, switch to your store first:
  • Click the Context switcher in the top navigation bar.

  • Select Store from the list.

The dashboard now shows live data for the selected store:

Opening Categories

  • Click Products in the left sidebar to expand it, then click Categories.

The Categories page shows the store you're currently managing and the Category Tree:

Opening Category Translations

  • Click the menu next to a category in the Category Tree.

  • Select Translations.

The Category Translations page shows the category and store you're managing, how many localized variants already exist, and the Translation Registry.

Adding a translation

  • Click + Add Translation.

  • Choose the Language to translate into, then fill in the localized content:

The Context panel on the right confirms the store and category you're adding the translation to.
